The core of the developed technology is the recovery of polyphenols; the main process step around which the whole of the specific wastewater management technology was developed. Polyphenols are substances with interesting biological operation (antioxidative, antimicrobial etc.), which can be used in numerous applications in the pharmaceutical industry, the cosmetics industry and the food industry. These substances have a significant commercial value, a fact based on which it is estimated that the viability of an investment for the development at full (industrial) scale of the specific technology will be ensured. Such a technology-intensive industrial unit will be in direct connection with the agricultural production and manufacturing and it will promote the regional sustainable development with multiple social and economic benefits.
